The Walnut Valley Festival.

We have returned from Junior's very first "Winfield". Lots of people signed his journal, he got his first tie-dyed onesie, and he made his first WVF stage appearance!

This year was different and yet the same. We were camped at the lake due to mind-boggling flooding in the fairgrounds, so things were spread out in a way that altered the usual "ahem" to elbows crowding. We still spent most of our time jamming, so things didn't really change all that much.

Junior slept through the night during the entire week. He's outgrown his first night-owl stage, but it's sure to return by his teen years...

SCENES FROM WINFIELD

"Where's our stake?"

"Ew, it smells like fish here!"

"How many times did you get evacuated?"

"What kind of guitar is that?"

"Don't go in there. It's full."

"Have you been to Wal-Mart today?"

"I'm really excited to see you! I just can't remember your name..."

"What's that? A bucket of cookies?"

"Hey, go get the box you keep your nuts in! Uh, I mean... you know, the pistachios."

"En-CORE! Two MORE!"

"Well, the porta-saunas are in fine form today."

"Okay, just one more, then we have to go."

"Okay, just one more, then we have to go."

"Okay, just one more, then we have to go."

"Yeah, I know that one. Now, I don't play it like everyone else."

"Aw, how old is he?"

"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!!!!"

"Okay, just one more, then we have to go."

"Well, it'd be a lot cooler if it had six strings."

"Tune it or die!"

"Help yourself, we made plenty!"

"Shrimp and hot dogs?"

"Didja get a pick?"

"Okay, just one more, then we have to go."

"Does anybody know the words to..."

"Who needs a watch? We're on Winfield time!"

"What was that chord?"

"YOU eat Cheez-Its. You are not allowed to comment on MY dinner."

"Okay, just one more, then we have to go."

"Anybody need a tarp?"

"Anybody want a cooler?"

"Group hug!"

"Here's my e-mail."

"See you next year!"

"Holy crap, look at all this laundry!"

Did we have a good time? What do you think?

Hey~
P.S.
Thought the 'Heart&Sole'was nice to work with (must have been the aloe) and not too splitty. I'm using LL now and when it spits it really breaks into individual strands..what a pain....plus it's almost 4x's the price.
Next time I'll use a Sz#1 needle for a firmer fabric!
Happy knitting.

What a lovely pic, and that smile! it warms the cockles of the heart.

Sleeping through the night as well? one could be forgiven for harbouring the teeniest piece of jealousy.
